Clear skin gives you so much confidence. You look and feel great with glowing skin. After making some changes to my diet I’ve noticed that my skin is glowing and got damn it feels amazing! If you want clear skin a holistic approach is best. This is only part one of the clear skin regimen. I’m giving you clear skin from the inside out.
Supercharge Your Water
I drink about 8 cups of water each day. Drinking plain ole water all the time gets boring and there are ways to naturally add vitamins, minerals and enzymes to your water which will help give you clearer skin. Here are my favorites:
Lemon Water: Squeeze 1/2 lemon into a cup of room temperature water and drink this first thing in the morning. Lemons are a great source of Vitamin C which helps to to fight free radicals that lead to aging skin, kill acne causing bacteria, and give the skin a healthy glow. Also, lemons act as a cleanser to rid the body of toxins. A clean body means clear skin.
Apple Cider Vinegar Water: Add two tablespoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar to a cup of water. Apple Cider Vinegar is high in potassium that is easily absorbed by the body. Many doctors link potassium deficiency to dark under eye circles. So those dark under eye circles you have…they’ll be gone once you start drinking apple cider vinegar water. Also, apple cider vinegar is alkaline and a detoxifier that removes toxins from the body.
Detox Tea: Drinking detox teas help to further remove toxins from the body. It is a cleanser for the body and once your body is free of toxins you are on your way to healthy, glowing skin!
Raw Juices: Okay so this is not water but it’s still amazing. Fresh, raw juices provide your body with so many nutrients that lead to clear, glowing skin. I definitely drink at least 2 cups of raw juice a day.
Clean eating means eating fresh, whole, unprocessed foods. I try to stay away from added sugar, white flour/rice, pre-packaged foods, and dairy. Instead my diet mainly consists of fresh fruits, vegetables, beans and legumes, lean meats, and whole grains. This diet doesn’t clog our systems and throw our bodies in to overdrive to rid toxins out of our body. Your body is absorbing and using the vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that a clean diet provides.
If you eat to nourish your body then healthy hair, skin, and nails will result. Our skin is a reflection of our health and if our body is working overtime to process the junk we eat then our systems will become tired and sluggish which will show in our skin.
Look out for part two of the clear skin regimen which will focus on actually taking care of our skin!
